Arcane Hobbies held the line on Stellar Crown release day!

Showed up at 9am for the Stellar Crown release and the staff had a numbered ticket system. Only 1 booster box or 4 packs per ticket. Saw two guys try to buy multiple boxes and get turned away. This is what every store should do. Shoutout to Arcane Hobbies — they actually care about their community.

Fan Story

My 8-year-old finally got her first booster pack thanks to this community

My daughter has been asking for Pokémon cards for months. Every time we went to Target or Walmart, the shelves were empty. Found this site, checked the store directory, and drove to The Card Vault. The staff was amazing — they had product in stock and my daughter got to pick her own packs. She pulled a holo Charizard. She cried happy tears. Thank you PokeBusterPals.

Level Up Games just added a purchase limit policy — we did this!

Six months ago I submitted Level Up Games to the store directory and left a note asking them to consider purchase limits. The owner reached out, we had a conversation, and last week they officially implemented a 2-pack limit per customer. This is proof that talking to store owners works. Don't be afraid to ask — most of them WANT to help real fans.

Started a local fan group — 40 members in 2 weeks

After finding PokeBusterPals I started a local Discord for Denver-area Pokémon fans. We share restock alerts, coordinate LGS visits, and hold each other accountable to never buying from scalpers. 40 members in 2 weeks. We've already helped 12 people find cards at fair prices. Community is the answer. Start one in your city.

Pro Tip

How I track restocks without paying for a bot service

Set up free Google Alerts for '[set name] restock' and '[set name] in stock'. Follow your local game stores on Instagram — they almost always post when new product arrives. Join your city's Pokémon Facebook group. And most importantly: build a relationship with your LGS staff. I get a text from Collector's Corner every time they get a new shipment. Zero cost, zero bots.

Pro Tip

The "patience beats scalpers" strategy actually works — here is proof

Refused to pay $80 for a booster box that retails at $45. Waited 6 weeks. The Pokémon Company reprinted. Box is now $42 at my LGS. Scalpers are sitting on inventory they can't move. Every time you refuse to buy from a scalper, you're voting for a healthier hobby. The market always corrects — just wait them out.

Scalper Report

Scalper ring operating at multiple Walmarts in Phoenix metro

Spotted the same group of 4-5 people hitting 3 different Walmarts on restock day. They coordinate via group chat and split up to buy the max at each location. Reported to store managers at all 3 locations. Two of them have now added purchase limits. Keep your eyes open — if you see coordinated buying, speak up.

Bot accounts clearing out online stock — here is how to fight back

Noticed the same pattern: product goes live online, sells out in under 2 minutes. That is bots. What works: shop in-person at LGS, use store pickup options (bots can't pick up in store), and report suspicious bulk orders to retailer customer service. Target and Walmart both have policies against reseller bulk buying — use them.
